Iván Esquivel - CV
Iván Esquivel (Lima, 1971)
Esquivel has presented solo shows in Lima "TV-SET/VIDEO" at Punctum
Gallery (2003) and "Bidimensional / Tridimensional" at Sala Luis Miro
Quesada in Miraflores (2001). Earlier, he presented "Fall - Winter
collection" (1993) and "Strawberry sundae" (1991) both at Universidad
Nacional Mayor de San Marcos. In 1991 he presented "Anafranilium
Consumatum Est" at Centro de Arte y Cultura Magia in Lima.
In the year 2000 he collaborated with Sandra Gamarra for the
installation "Kitchen" at the Ricardo Palma Cultural Center in
Miraflores, Lima.
His work has been showcased in various group exhibitions in Peru and
abroad, amongst them the II Lima Biennial and the II Photography
Biennial in Arequipa at Universidad de San Agustin. In the year 2003 he
participated in the 7th International Video Art Festival at Sala Luis
Miro Quesada in Miraflores and at the 20th Worldwide Video Festival in
Amsterdam, Holland. He was also part of the Mixmove Festival at the
Amphitheatre Gaston Berger in Paris, France, MICroWAVE/VIDEOTAGE VIDEO
FESTIVAL in Hong Kong, China, MEDI@TERRA 2000 in Athens, Greece,
INTERFERENCES CICV Pierre Schaeffer, Belfort, France,
ISEA2000/REVELATION Symposium on Electronic Art in Paris, France.
His work was included in the 2nd and 3rd International Video Art
Festival at Universidad Ricardo Palma in Lima in 1998 and 1999 ,
respectively and in the 12TH VIDEOBRASIL - Competitive exhibition in
São Paulo, Brasil.
