About LiMAC

LiMAC is a space that wants to serve as an introduction to contemporary art and especially to Peruvian contemporary art. Through its collection of more than 2,000 works, periodically exhibited, and its temporary exhibitions, LiMAC is a space conceived for visitors, national and foreign, to get a general but close vision of the artistic projects that one way or another intervene and influence Lima.
At the same time LiMAC is a space for the encounter of artists, curators, critics and spectators, and it is their presence that makes our museum a living center of artistic production.
Thus, the museum works jointly with artists, who are the basis of our project. From this base, our curators and critics work to create ways of reading and approaching the spectator. This museum exists thanks to this reciprocal and generous collaboration.
The museum organizes its exhibitions according to the origin of the work. In the Permanent Space, we organize exhibitions with funds from the museum's collection. Different curators are given the opportunity of making their own selection based on the interpretation they want to offer. On the other hand, the museum has two spaces for Temporary Exhibitions and they present the work of artists who are invited to make special projects for those spaces and also to present projects done outside of Lima.
LiMAC understands that its main interest is the revision of work completed during the last 10 years and this understanding is the basis for comprehending the most recent work.
